Tracks & track types
Each row in the grid is a track. There are three track types, each with its own color chip in the row header:
- SMPLR Sampler — plays an AudioBuffer with optional pitch-shifting and granular time-stretching.
- ACID Acid synth — a true 4-pole tanh-saturated ladder filter implemented in an AudioWorklet.
- WT Wavetable — 6 morphable tables, ADSR envelope, stackable unison voices.
Switching a track's type
Click the type chip in the track header → pick Sampler, 303 synth, orWavetable. If the track's name was the original default (e.g. "kick"), it is replaced with the first built-in preset name for the new type. Custom names are kept.
Track-header controls (left column)
- Color dot + type chip + name — click the name to select the track, double-click to rename.
×removes the track from every pattern. - Step-count input — per-track length 1–64 (drives polymeter).
- Volume slider — 0–100%.
- M mute / S solo (any soloed track silences the rest).
- 🎲 dice menu — randomize this track's steps / parameters.
- Q-button (live quantize strength) — 1.0 snaps live taps to the grid; 0.0 keeps the exact fractional offset; in-between is partial pull.
- Sample picker / ⬆ load / ✎ edit — sampler tracks only.
Adding tracks
The + Add Track row at the bottom of the grid creates a new sampler track. Its name and sample default to "Track N"; switch it to a synth via the type chip.
