A house beat in 60 seconds

Four tracks, one minute. The dice write a real starter for each instrument; you make it yours.

1. Kick (10 s)

New Song comes with a kick, snare and hat. Select the kick and press the dice: an empty pattern rolls a genre starter — for house that is four-on-the-floor. Turn DENSE down if you want air.

2. Hats that swing (15 s)

Select the hat track and roll. Nudge SWING on the transport to around 56–60 % — house lives in that shuffle. Tap a step and hold to open the inspector if you want a ratchet on the last 16th of the bar.

3. Clap on 2 and 4 (5 s)

On the snare track, clear the pattern and tap steps 5 and 13. That’s it.

4. Acid bass (30 s)

Add a track → Acid (303). Roll the BASSLINE dice: rolling, off-beat trance or tribal styles are morphed by RANGE and VARIATION. Long-press a step for a slide or an accent. Raise cutoff and resonance until it screams, then back off a hair.

The key chip at the top keeps every track in key. Change it and the bassline follows.

Then

Press SONG to chain patterns, or open DJ mode and mix the pattern against a record on deck B — same clock.

Questions

Do I need to know music theory?

No. The key chip and the dice keep everything in key; the composer dice generate real harmony you can morph.
