Getting started
sonyk is a browser-based generative percussive sequencer. It runs entirely on the Web Audio API — no plugins, no installs. Open it in any modern Chromium, Firefox, or Safari browser and click Click to Start Audio Engine on the splash screen to initialize the audio context.
Every browser blocks audio playback until the user interacts with the page, so the start-screen click is required by your browser, not by us. Once initialized, sonyk loads built-in samples (kick, snare, hats, clap, tom, rim, perc), boots two synths (Acid + Wavetable), and registers two AudioWorklet processors for real-time DSP.
What you get out of the box
- 8 default sampler tracks with a classic drum kit
- 16 pattern slots (A1–D4) with scene-style queue or a song-mode timeline
- Acid and Wavetable synths with built-in presets
- A Drift Engine that evolves parameters over time
- Hierarchical sidechain (the Ducking Ladder)
- Per-track reverb + delay sends
- MIDI in / out, Freesound browser, project save / load / share
