Audio tracks (full songs)

An audio track plays a whole song — an import, a Beatport purchase, a bounce — in time with your pattern. Sonyk detects its tempo, fits a beat grid, and from then on the song is just another track: it starts on the 1, follows tempo changes, and can be looped, beat-repeated and mixed like anything else.

Beat grid & cue

  • BPM range — detection is bounded so a 128 BPM house record isn't read as 85 or 170. Pick the range that matches the material (70–100, 100–130, 120–140, 140–180, or ANY); the loaded track re-detects immediately.
  • SNAP GRID re-fits the grid to the detected onsets and tells you what percentage of hits landed on it. A low number means the take has human timing, not that the fit failed.
  • Cue — set the first downbeat by tapping the waveform, then snap it to the fitted grid.

Keylock

Tempo changes hold the original pitch — real-time time-stretching, so a track pulled from 124 to 128 doesn't turn into a chipmunk.

NoteThe grid is stored as maths (tempo + anchor), not as re-analysis, so a song reopens instantly and its grid survives the trip between devices.
