sonyk is a browser-based generative drum machine, synthesizer, and DJ workstation. Build patterns, layer instruments, mix with effects, and play out two decks side-by-side — all with zero installs. It runs on the Web Audio API in any modern browser (Chromium, Firefox, Safari) and works on desktop and mobile.

The product is built around three principles:

• Generative — euclidean rhythms, drift, randomize, arpeggiator, and trig conditions all turn a few taps into evolving patterns.
• Touch-first — every control works with mouse, touch, and keyboard. Mobile layouts are full-fidelity, not stripped-down.
• No-installs, no lock-in — your data is yours (auto-saved to your browser, exportable as a portable.sonyk file, re-openable anywhere).

One product, four places

Sonyk runs in the browser, as native apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and as a spatial app for Apple Vision Pro. Your account and your songs are the same everywhere — a .sonyk file made on one opens on all of them.

Most features are available everywhere, so this guide only marks the ones that aren't. When you see a badge beside a heading, that feature runs only on those platforms:

The reasons are practical rather than commercial: the spatial club needs a headset, Ableton Link and AUv3 plugins need a native host, and a browser tab can't advertise itself on your local network.
